The purpose of a Data Warehouse  is to organize large amounts of stable data for ease of analysis and retrieval and for its design Dimensional modeling is used to organize the data for efficiency of queries that are intended to analyse and summarise large volumes of data. Designing a data warehouse is very different from designing an online transaction processing database.
 
A data mart  is one segment of the data warehouse. Data marts are often used to provide information to functional segments of the organization.
Online Analytical Data Processing (OLAP)
Data processing method designed to handle the queries required to discover trends and critical factors are called online analytical processing (OLAP) systems. OLAP systems operate on OLAP data in data warehouses or data marts. A data warehouse stores enterprise-level OLAP data.
 
OLAP data is organized into multidimensional cubes. The basic unit of a multidimensional cube is called a measure. The measures are organized along dimensions. Each dimension is divided into units called members. The members of a dimension are typically organized into a hierarchy. Similar members are grouped together as a level of the hierarchy.
 

Database production support and maintenance service.

Services provided included support and maintenance contract:

  • At the start:  At beginning of the contract period we will fully audit of the Database Server (SQL Server, ORACLE), databases and database applications in the RDBMS relations. All findings are fully documented. Any performance enhancements, security, backup/recovery and maintenance issues are resolved, an early warning procedure and other necessary procedures implemented and all is fully documented. A day-by-day based instruction document is provided. The early warning procedures Logs will be placed in alerts and emailed to our company's EMAIL address. If any irregularities or errors are detected they will be acted upon.
  • Ongoing:    A qualified DBA will be present on our Customer's site as required and full written report will be provided about any action taken. At least once a month full review of the server and databases. Review of the Error Logs, storage capacity and the implemented early warning system logs and if any alert or error is reported, it will be investigated and resolved. Full written report is provided of either cases, i.e.: if everything was normal or if any action was  carried out.
  • On-Call:    Our company as part of the service will take calls on any kind of Database Server (SQL Server, ORACLE) or database operational or emergency matters 24 hours a day 7 days a week and provide on-line or on-site support as the seriousness of the matter demands.
  • Service provider personnel:   J. CHAPPEL ENTERPRISE DBA PTY.LTD. will provide the extensive experience of our highly trained personnel (our staff have BCS degrees in IT and Microsoft certification). All the calls and request will be directed to a  highly trained  personnel available to assist.
  • Non-disclosure:   As an industrial practice it is part of our contract to give either a confidentiality statement or undersign a non-disclosure agreement of the choice of our customer's practice.
